BSJA AREA 51 JUNIOR ACADEMY

The Junior Academy for area 51 is initiated by the BSJA to encourage younger members and new members and to promote the sport of show jumping.   We welcome applications from any interested young show jumpers up to 18 years of age..

The Area's BSJA Accredited Trainer is Claire Rushworth.  She will take the riding and jumping sessions that you will see.  We may on occasions have visiting Accredited Trainers.  We will always aim to have other features at each training session.  These talks or demonstrations are to help you develop your knowledge and understanding and of course through this be more successful.

The Academy has been formed to meet the needs of the young riders within our area.  Ideas from Academy members are valued and gratefully received by the co-ordinator or any Area 51 committee member.

Your Co-ordinator is Val Mason.  Please contact her by phone, post or e-mail.  She will be pleased to answer any of your questions.

The objectives of the Academy is to help the Junior riders learn about show jumping in every way.  Not just sitting on a pony or horse and going around a course of jumps but how to prepare yourself and your pony or horse in the best possible way.  How to understand and enjoy the sport you have chosen to compete in.  It is also to help in the transition from ponies to horses.

The Area Committee hope that the Academy will promote the sport of show jumping and encourage new members.

It is free to join - the charges made for the training are only to cover the costs - we do not aim to make a profit and if funds are raised these will be used to benefit young riders within Area 51.
